Can anyone point me at a really simple website creator software?
I have a friend who is trying to sell an ebook. The book is fine but she wants to do everything herself, as far as possible, including building her website. Trouble is that I use stuff like XSitePro, SiteGrinder and Dreamweaver - all of which are way out of her understanding.
What I need is a simple wysiwyg program (preferably free) that she can create a one page site on.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks _________________ Phil the Bear

Nvu is a great program and a lot of people still use it because it does exactly what they want - however it is no longer supported - the new incarnation is Komposer at http://www.kompozer.net/
The same program - just with some bugs squashed!
A good "starter" program, however I think, as with a lot of things - nothing is easy - there is a learning curve to whatever you choose.
I think it would be ideal for your friend, Randy. _________________ Kind Regards Jo Blythe - RAP Membership Bundle |

Hi Janet
I have used alleycode before and found it very good for both HTML and php editing - I stuck with 1st Page 2000 (didn't bother with the newest version because I don't need all the extra stuff) - but they are quite similar I think.
However what I find with both of those is that they are not really WYSIWYG editors. You really do need a little knowledge beforehand.
The likes of NVU and Komposer seem ideal for the "novice" and would possibly be easier to get to grips with. It is a long time since I used NVU but I do remember how easy it was to type in a bit of text, highlight it and change fonts, colours, size etc very easily and get instant views of what the changes looked like.
I don't think things like that are so easy with alleycode and 1st Page - unless someone can tell me how its done!
As ever . . . just my thoughts . . . _________________ Kind Regards Jo Blythe - RAP Membership Bundle |
