Thought I'd say hi.
I am an inexperienced 'marketeer' (Why do people say Marketers? We don't say Musketers do we!)
I don't think I will be making a fortune, but I just want to make a few bob to spend on life's little luxuries. Like a top of the range Beemer and maybe a 40 foot motor home, that I can fly over to the States in my private, Government Surplus Hercules.
Be nice that would. I might even get to meet the Rich Guy who takes the mickey out of his clients and still sells them stuff!
So you can tell I am really only in this for fun and a bit of pocket-cash.
On thing that bothers me. Whenever I think of buying something, why do I have to wade through a pile of rubbish, which tells me the same thing three different ways, before I get to the bottom line -- the price?
If this is Copy-writing, then I think it's time there was something more succinct and easier on the eyes and the brain!
Maybe here I'll find out .Yep?
Cheers folks.
Nice to meet you all

Welcome Jack.
The answer to your question is that most advert copywriting is based on American principles from the heyday of newspaper ads in the 1940s onwards. Unfortunately, these are still accepted as being 'the best'. Even more annoying is that you can read all the crap and they still don't give you the price until you click through to buy.
I agree with you 100% - it's a real pain. But, somewhere out there, there are lots of American guru copywriters who'll sell courses on creating exactly those types of adverts. One, Ted Nicholas, even says in one of his ebooks that you should always use a typewriter (whatever those are...)
I try to keep things simple - whether or not it works better I have no idea but I simply cannot waste the time in generating long, long repetitive websites. _________________ Phil the Bear

Hi Jack,
Welcome to the forum
And yeah - we all agree, and most others asked would also agree about salescopy - unfortunately we all seem to stick to those same principles or our sales suffer!!??...
I've tried a few times to just lay out the facts - and it never converts as well as the hype!
People say they want it hype free -= but figures always prove otherwise...Do bear that in mind when you get going.
Finding the balance is the hard part!!
