|

Hi everyone,
I know what it can be like starting anything new, so you really can save yourself a few £££'s by just using free software. If you know what programs are worth downloading then you are onto a winner as they say!
I started the software collection by seeing if I could replace my existing commercial programs with open source or free stuff - after many hours of searching, downloading, testing, I finally acheived it. Unfortunately, the bug had bitten, and I started to just add software for those 'just in case' moments!
Anyway, I decided to share it with you at Tony's request (after making a post on one of his blogs).
There are one or two affiliate links ... but only if the software itself makes the grade for the website ... and only to help pay for the webspace and bandwidth. For example, (and a program many of you may find useful): WebCEO is a very useful search engine optimisation tool, but I am part of their affiliation scheme. (I like to be honest!)
If you have any questions or program suggestions, I'm always open to ideas too, so please contact me.
Anyway, take a while to browse, download anything you think will be useful to you, and most of all ... enjoy!
Welcome to the Lessfuss Free Software Collection!

Hi only joined forum today and think your service is brilliant. Got a number of ideas to follow up.
Do you have any thoughts on best/safest automatic delivery systems for digital products sold on ebay for example? Not looking for free one necessarily but reliable. _________________ Regards,

Firstly, Hi Butchman, and welcome to the forum.
I don't actually deal with digital products/automated delivery personally, so the only advice I can offer is to perhaps post this in the 'Need Help?' section of this forum under its own topic, as it may not get seen or answered here. I am sure if you did that, there would be someone who does ( Tony perhaps? ) and who could point you in the right direction.

Thank you, glad you found something that you could use (that's the idea!).
I colour my important and backup folders red so that I don't delete them by accident (learnt that one the hard way!!!)
I've added another 14 programs or so yesterday too, so there's a bit more for you all to browse, plus I've been trying to get screenshots up for as many programs as possible. Of course, more will be added as time allows. _________________ It's true! The best things in life really ARE free! (Well, some software is!) |

Well that was one of the reasons I called it 'Lessfuss' ... you don't need to try 'heaps' to get what you need ... because I've already done the testing for you!!
Obviously, 'the best' can sometimes be subjective, but if you're short on time (or trust my suggestions!), then hopefully what I select will fulfill your requirements and get the job done.
My next categories are going to be in the 'self help' and 'multimedia/video' areas, for which I've already tried and tested a number of programs, so expect to see them up in the next week or two.
.. and if you see something I'm missing ... have any suggestions ... then I'm always open to new ideas _________________ It's true! The best things in life really ARE free! (Well, some software is!) |

Hi Andy, love your site so much... hope you don't mind but I've put your site as a useful resource on my new site http://newbiesonline.com.
What I really like the most about your site is that you have truly sorted out all the good products (in my opinion) on free software and organised it. It saves heaps of time going straight to yours rather than hunting around the various download sites only to find that the product is only on a trial or not what you wanted...
Tried the c-cleaner - this is brilliant - my hard drive thanks you!

Thank you for your kind comments Leanne, it's what makes my task rewarding!
As you have found ... I really have been testing free software for quite sometime now and don't just post 'anything' on there!
You may have also noticed I've added more screenshots recently ... but I've still a way to go to get it how I want it!
As a thanks, I've added NewbiesOnline to my newly added links & resources page ... here. Hope that's ok with you?
Anyway, best wishes of the season.
